I am no guru of art and I will never claim to be an expert. I like to feel I have a passion and desire to absorb and learn all I can. When I see a work of art that lures and entices me, it leads me to investigate further, like a giant sponge with a highlighted bob in a Boden dress. I wish to understand the depth, meaning and concept behind the painting. I am an analyzer who wishes to dissect the work into a 1000 puzzle pieces. I like to study the philosophy and meaning of the painting. There is nothing better than feeling that you have thought up your own angle behind someone's masterpiece. Maybe I am just curious maybe just nosy!
Then there is the whole visual appreciation. A canvas filled with wondrous shapes and sublime colourful shades. A palette of colour, whether it is subtle or bold just shakes my blossom tree. I just adore colour! The combination of different hues working in harmony. I guess the whole colour concept promotes who I am. It reflects in my daily life. The choices I make, the way I dress, the décor of my surroundings. I am not afraid of colour and we should all embrace it for there is more meaning behind the word 'colourful' .....I once gave my gorgeous daughter Poppy this advice. I quote...
"Always be 'Colourful' as it is what you are. You are animated, kooky and assertive, exquisitely captivating and challenging. Witty, open minded and perspicacious. Brainy and astute. Bungey, kind and loving ! Never be afraid nor cautious to spread your 'Colour' where ever you venture. Be glam, glitter and sparkle my dearest beautiful daughter! As there is nothing more abhorrent in life than bromidic and boring people !
Et voila! I do have a tendency to woooffle on and on ....I wish to share some of my favorite paintings. Maybe I can pass some info along to you that you may appreciate.
